1 – A little bit of cleaning, but every day.
The trap when you maintain your house is to do everything at once and spend 4 hours on the weekend cleaning. You don’t have to do it all at once every day. Spend between 5 and 10 minutes in the morning, the same in the evening, and hardly more. Do the math, at the end of the week, that’s almost 2 hours!

2 – Put the duration of tasks into perspective
You are working, you are overwhelmed? Yes, do this experiment: calculate how long a task takes, it is sometimes much less than you think. In fact, it takes no more than 5 minutes to empty the dishwasher, clean the toilet or change a pair of sheets, or 2 or 3 minutes to sponge down the hotplates and the worktop…

3 – Get the whole family involved
The calculation is simple, the whole family can do 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening. If there are 4 of you, that’s 40 minutes a day. Well, without even getting out your calculator, you can count that on Friday night, that’s almost 3h30, which is not anything! To clear the table, to peel the potatoes, it’s the same: the more we are the faster it goes. A task that takes 20 minutes alone only takes 5 minutes with four people!

4 – Set challenges
Your kids will love it (in principle)! For example, instead of the usual: tidy your room! Say instead: the first one who has collected 20 objects wins. Take part in this game yourself, and you’ll see, time passes much faster, and it’s very effective.

5 – Sort the laundry
Yes, but after the machine, when the laundry is dry. Sort it not by color but by category: socks and underwear in one basket and t-shirts and pants in another. If you have room, you can even have a basket for things to iron. And there as for the rest, involve the whole family, especially the socks: everyone gets involved, in “challenge” mode to find the pairs and won the right to fold them once collected.

6 – One thing at a time
If you decide to tidy up the living room, do just that. Example: you find a sock in the living room, you go to put it in the dirty, there you launch a machine and while you are in the bathroom, you pass a sponge in the bathtub! Stop! Do not disperse, because after 10 minutes your living room will still not be tidy and you will be frustrated. In the beginning, set a time limit: of 5 or 10 minutes, or if you prefer music, wait until 2 or 3 songs are played. You will be more efficient. And in the evening, sweep or vacuum the room, it will be easier since the room will have been tidied up in the morning.

6 – Establish rituals
Adopt good habits: put your jacket and shoes in the closet as soon as you arrive, it doesn’t take any more time than throwing them in the middle of the living room. We pass a small sponge on the sink after each tooth brushing. We put away the remote control after watching TV … do not wait until the next day to clear the table, or empty the dishwasher, we said above are tasks, which watch in hand do not take more than 5 minutes.

7 – Empty the house
